Nice conditions while ice climbing on "Quick and Dirty" today with Tim Haggarty. Wet ice and excellent protection throughout.
The Left and Center lines on Experts Choice now appear to be in good shape as well, expect them to be at the guidebook grade levels. The Right side still looks thin down low and would not be recommended quite yet. The various Compound Gullies and other moderate routes on Mt Crandell are also thick and in good shape with 10cm of snow from last night covering the lower angle areas. Things will get more brittle and some of the newly formed pillars should be analysed carefully and possibly avoided as the temperatures plummet over the next few days...but currently routes are in good shape with moist ice and good protection.
