I guided Guinness Gully and Guinness Stout today Dec 21st. There was
2-3cms of new snow in this area from last night, with no sign of wind.
We were glad the forecasted temps didn’t hold true for today. At 0800
it was –7*c at the base of the gully and winds were calm. Temperatures
stayed mild for the entire day and made for some comfortable climbing.
Guinness Gully is fine shape and hasn’t changed since the last MCR.
There is a good trail leading to Guinness Stout and the route is in
excellent shape. The top-out is still thin, with snow/ice over rock but
only for a couple of meters.
Happy Holidays
