Climbed Experts Choice with Jon Stuart-Smith today.
We climbed the L side of the Centre Route which is in excellent WI5 shape and protects well. Two 60m rappels down the Left Hand route off of bolted/chained stations gets you down.
We also climbed the first pitch of the Left Hand Route which has been influenced by the sun and had some hollow ice but the upper two pitches remain in good shape.
The sun hits the routes at 1045 these days so this is a consideration on clear days. Today this was not an issue as we had 15cm of new snow through the course of the day with some minor sluffing at times. Time for the skis tomorrow!
Cheers, Conrad Janzen
