Subject: | [MCR] Asulkan and Illecillewaet Trails Group Size Restriction Lifted, Glacier National Park, September 6, 2013 |

Please note that as of today the group size restriction due to bears in the area has been lifted for all trails in the Illecillewaet and Asulkan Valleys . This includes access to Avalanche, Eagle, Uto and Sir Donald Peaks as well as all peaks in the Asulkan Valley. A "Bear Warning" remains in effect for all these trails, but people no longer need to hike in groups of four. Making regular noise, being aware of what to do if you encounter a bear, and carrying bear spray while hiking are of course a good idea in these areas. The group size restriction due to bears in the area remains in place for the Balu Pass trail. Hikers/climbers must be in groups of four or more while travelling in this valley.
