[MCR] Ice Accident Weeping Wall

Subject: [MCR] Ice Accident Weeping Wall
Date: Fri, 10 Jan 2014 10:43:10 -0700
We received a report of a serious injury on the Weeping Wall January 8th.
The second-hand report was that a large chunk of ice had fallen on a
climber and that he had suffered serious head and shoulder injuries. The
call came through Red Deer RCMP after having been routed from a satellite
phone provider in Texas. The party self evacuated and we arranged for Banff
EMS to rendezvous with the RCMP to intercept the injured party at the
Niblock Gate on hwy 93 south. No further details are available.

If you are using a Satellite phone as your emergency communication device,
it is important to know that dialling 911 may not get you to a local
dispatch centre who would know the proper jurisdiction and call out for
response.
Banff Emergency Dispatch 24hrs can be reached at 403-762-4506.
