[MCR] Rogers Pass conditions, June 4, 2014

For anyone looking to get out this weekend,

Mt Tupper's West Ridge is looking mainly snow-free, with a few snow patches
lingering on ledges. I'd expect that there may be a bit of moistness in
some of the shaded cracks. A quick ascent/descent could be made using the
Lone Pine slidepath, which links into the start of the W Ridge. Start early
to get up the snow gully while it is firm. If you choose to take the trail
to Hermit Meadows, it is mainly snow-bound from 1700m upwards.

Mt Macdonald has shed much of its snow and the Crossover avalanche path
that descends to the creek is still well-choked with snow. The snow would
be a fast approach with minimal bushwacking to gain the Herdman Couloir or
any of the routes on the N or W side of Macdonald.

Prime quartzite alpine climbing is starting to shape up at Rogers Pass.
