Hello MCR Subscribers,

Climbed the West face routes on Lunette Peak and Mt. Assiniboine with Peter D yesterday August 10th.
We approached from the RC Hind Hut and descended the North ridge of Assiniboine. Crampons and axe were necessary to gain the Assiniboine-Sturdee Col. The rubbly ledge that begins 20m above the Assiniboine-Sturdee col and cuts across the West Face of Assiniboine was dry and we did not hear or see any rock fall.  The route from there to the summit of both peaks was mostly dry and we were able to avoid a few lingering snow patches by sticking to the rock.
An excellent trip and a good way to climb two 11000ers in a day.
