Climbed Amadeus today with MB Board and Tim Banfield.
Despite the balmy temperature and strong winds the route was mostly dry and
sheltered.
We approached the route using the summer approach trail to Barrier, then moved
right into the approach gully and travelled on mostly supportive hard slab and
patches of scree to the base.
The first pitch on rock climbed and protected well. The start to the ice was
thin but well bonded to the rock.
No avalanches observed today.
Light rain as we drove back into the Bow Valley at 4pm today.
