Cold and icy between 2200 and 2500m as of this afternoon. LOTS of thin clear
ice in gullies and on the trails. I scraped ice off the exposed sections of the
Huber Ledges trail for at least 100m today. Easy ground but with clear ice it
was pretty sporty and easy to make a high consequence mistake on.
Ice is forming up in lots of moderate angle gullies so there may just be
something to swing your tools into if temps stay cool! Little to no melting at
all above 2300m. And anything that did melt will likely be icy again tomorrow
morning .
Feels like the 1st day of fall.
