I guided out of the Stanley Mitchell Hut July 15-17. Fine snow climbing
conditions right now.
July 15th we scrambled across the north hump/summit of Mt Kerr. Good snow to
descend to the east from the col between said hump and the main summit.
July 16th we climbed the President and Vice President. Best line of ascent, at
present, is to link the most snow possible by climbing on climber's right side
of the President Glacier.
July 17th we climbed Mt McArthur. Good supportive snow on the glacier.
The creek crossings are high and somewhat challenging. We didn't step on more
that 2 metres of ice during all the ascents and my aluminium crampons did well.
An orange haze to the air and limited views from the summits due to the forest
fire.
Happy trails,
